Manchester Piccadilly Station Building

The station received a five-year £100m refurbishment in 2002, which was the most expensive improvement on the UK rail network at the time. There are plans to enlarge the station with two new through platforms as part of the Northern Hub and five new platforms as part of the High Speed 2 proposals.
