Tomorrow’s Train Design Today Competition

New ideas competition which asks competitors to propose new design solutions to improve passenger rolling stock across the GB rail network.

The FutureRailway team and the Department for Transport (DfT) in association with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) are inviting architects, engineers and designers worldwide to consider two design challenges – 4C’s train challenge – longer-term horizon designs for rolling stock that push the envelope of what can be delivered and Next-Gen Train interiors – medium-term horizon designs for rolling stock interiors that focus on flexibility and adaptability to meet different service requirements.

This project is for a high tech office development in district 12 of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam for the VECL group. The 12 story building will contain 25,000m2 of office space., the ground floor contains gardens and a restaurant. There is also a business club, conference centre, gym and pool on the top floor.

Stadio Della Roma, Rome Sports Arena

AS Roma unveils the proposed Woods Bagot designs for Stadio Della Roma, the club’s new 52,000 seat state-of-the-art stadium at Tor di Valle, to the south west of Rome city centre. The building is scheduled for completion in the Summer of 2016, with the design being inspired by The Colossuem, the most iconic building in the city.

Urban Beacon in Buffalo mixed-use building

The innovative building will anchor a prime intersection bordering the Historic West Village District.

Glass Office by MVRDV in Hong Kong

Construction has started on the Cheung Fai building in Hong Kong which transforms a former warehouse into offices for creative companies.
The building is in Kwun Tong waterfront in the business area of East Kowloon. It aims to create a luxurious loft style working environment by replacing everything but the primary concrete structure of the building with glass and stainless steel infill.

The architecture forms a dreamlike scene inspired by a forest turned into geometric shapes, capturing the essence of the organic and taking it to an industrial environment.
Wood and iron blend in a reflection of the tension between the industrial, the geometrical and the cold on one hand; and the organic, the curved and warm on the other. The dining area becomes a big stage where the great show cooking takes place and fills the place with dynamism and vitality.

Allianz Headquarters in Zürich Offices

Design: Wiel Arets Architects (WAA). The Allianz Headquarters is a hybrid-office and the pinnacle of a master planned mixed-use district on the edge of Zürich’s city center. Comprised of a 20-story tower and a 5-story annex, these two components are externally linked by a series of four bridges, and vertically linked by numerous interior voids and staircases.

IMAX DreamCenter in Shanghai

A 3XN designed IMAX theatre, retail and creative offices complex will be an iconic contribution to the 15 billion yuan (USD$2.4 billion) DreamCenter entertainment district on Shanghai’s West Bund. The DreamCenter building is being developed by DreamWorks Animation together with partners, CMC Capital Partners and Hong Kong developer Lan Kwai Fong Group.

Fairmount Avenue Townhomes Tennessee

Amarin Apartment Village, Croatia

Amarin Apartment Village is located north of the city of Rovinj, surrounded by lush vegetation. Next to the existing 272 apartments, the old substandard ones were removed from the site and 190 new were built in their place. The new buildings location is partly determined by the existing pedestrian paths that continue into the new project; and by the plots gentle slope from north to south. The Village was conceived to have a high quality intimate outdoor space that accompanies each apartment as well as a comfortable interior.
