The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Woodland Trust are delighted to announce the winner of the open design competition for a new Visitor Hub at Langley Vale Wood in Surrey as Mark Wray Architects from Bath.
Design: Matteo Cainer Architects Ltd. Extension of the Kulture Magasinet building in Sundsvall occupying a beautiful location between the two hills that enclose the city, and that faces the Selangeran River.
Design: Zaha Hadid Architects. Mixed-use project, with condominiums and a space for a cultural institution. The project was one of the last that Zaha designed before she unexpectedly passed away.
After huge controversy back in 2012, the city council is taking the plunge again! Architects invited to draw up a design and delivery plan for enhancing the city’s Victorian park in the Denburn Valley including an amphitheatre to allow year-round events and re-using the historic arches.

OMA wins the architecture competition for the $80m expansion of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York. It will be the studio’s first art museum project in the USA.
Architects: O+ L Building Projects. An extreme remodel for a couple whose children are grown and left the house, this Project is a reduction of building size while drastically updating the design to reflect the Clients desire to have a simple, clean modern building.

Design: Dorte Mandrup Architects. The building is named “The Opal”, which refers to the oval gemstone that reflects all colours of the spectrum. The reference is evident in both form and structure.
