The British Pavilion at the 14th International Architecture Exhibition – la Biennale di Venezia. The British Council will present the exhibition A Clockwork Jerusalem in the British Pavilion, responding to the theme ‘Absorbing Modernity: 1914-2014’ set for the national pavilions by director Rem Koolhaas.

Conceptually speaking – with structural metaphoric relationship – the Insurance Company embracing life and property of its customers is depicted as embracing nature by placing the tower and the podium in a natural landscape.

Design: Joey Ho Design Limited. Spring is a newly established learning center for children with the aim to help them achieve their development and learning potential during the crucial growth years. With this philosophy in mind, the designer came up with a concept that would enrich the learning experience — dual perspective. By bringing together the perspectives of a child and an adult, and manifested in the space, furniture and details, it is hoped to facilitate a dialogue and interaction between the children, parents and educators.

Design: Arhitektura d.o.o. The owner is a successful Slovenian businessman who spends some of his spare time in the countryside. The property is situated on the edge of a small village on top of a hill, and consists of farm land, forest, residential building, barn house, apiary and wooden pavilion used as a tool shack.

A team lead by architects Elkiær + Ebbeskov and LETH & GORI has been announced as the winner of Randers Municipality and The Danish Foundation for Culture and Sport Facilities’ competition for the Langvang Multifunctional Sports Building. The proposal by E+E and LETH
& GORI was selected after a 2-phased competition.

Ljubljana Apartment Renovation, Slovenia

The apartment design by Studio 360 is in the heart of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is divided into living area (consisting of a large living room with kitchen and dining room) and more intimate / sleeping area (two sleeping rooms and a study room). In between these two spaces there is a service part offering two contemporary bathrooms and one utility.

Design: MVRDV. The city of Rotterdam, De Verre Bergen Foundation and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and MVRDV presented the design for the new Collection Building. The building with a surface of 15.000 sqm is an open art depot featuring exhibition halls, a sculpture roof garden and a restaurant. The public can see what’s going on behind the scenes in a museum and private art collectors will be able to store their own collection in ideal Museum conditions.

Canadian cabin design competition draws over 50 submissions from around the world. Young winner Nathan Fisher of Toronto awarded $1,000 and will see his design built on 580 acre sustainably managed forest by competition host; Community Forests International.
