Design: Iredale Pedersen Hook Architects: The Nannup Holiday house forms part of a wandering path through the landscape from Perth to Nannup. This path dialogues with the landscape of intense forest, meandering river and rolling hills, each experience is carefully choreographed to enrich the occupancy of the house.
Design: BDP, architects wins commission to design the International Business School in the ancient city of Suzhou which lies 80 km to the west of Shanghai. The school makes up the last building of the Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU) south campus. BDP was appointed in 2012 to masterplan the large-scale campus to provide world-class teaching, laboratory and research facilities, and has already designed five faculty buildings on the site.
Design: Herzog & de Meuron. The hospital is surrounded by nature and contains a garden in its center. The horizontality of the building and its undulating form responds to the location of the hospital in the midst of the wide Danish landscape
Design: Steven Holl Architects
Maggie’s, the charity which provides practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer, has applied for planning permission for a new Maggie’s Centre in the grounds of St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The plans for the Centre have been designed by US architect Steven Holl.
The building design has been fully supported by English Heritage. They point to the improvements that the building will realise by revelation and restoration of key architectural features such as the building’s quoins.
Sukkahville Architecture Contest

Kehilla Residential Programme invites architects, students, artists, builders and allied design professionals to submit design proposals for the fourth annual Sukkahville Design Competition. The aim of this open competition is to design a temporary, free standing Sukkah to be built on Nathan Phillips Square in front of Toronto’s City Hall for the holiday of Sukkot, with a contemporary design language and approach.
Brent Council has resolved to grant planning consent to UNITE, the UK’s leading developer and manager of student accommodation, for a c. 220,000 sqft student accommodation scheme on Olympic Way, adjacent to Wembley Stadium
Design: NatureHumaine. This project was completed for a developer/home builder at the intersection between Coleraine Street and a laneway in Montreal’s Point St-Charles neighborhood. The program for this project required 2 row-homes on an 8.7m wide lot.
The Eliza Apartments by Tony Owen Partners has just been completed in Sydney. Designed to be Sydney’s most prestigious and progressive address. We sought a building to fit within the historic context of the area yet was an unmistakeably contemporary and challenging design, combining classic 20th century style with parametric design tools to create a sustainable iconic CBD landmark.
The Collection Pavilion at Shanghai Auto Museum, Shanghai-Anting, China, a permanent exhibition about the milestones in automobile development from 1900 to 1975. ATELIER BRÜCKNER created a spacious room narrative representing an exclusive parking deck which displays 39 historical cars over 2300 square metres.

Foreign Office Architects – FOA key buildings. Farshid Moussavi + Alejandro Zaera Polo, London, UK. The architecture practice was founded in 1995 and lasted until 2011. Their major work is Yokohama Ferry Terminal in Japan, which brought this design studio to worldwide attention.
This modernist architecture design by Alfonso Architects combines new construction and renovation: a 25,000 sqft building forming a sanctuary, administrative offices and classrooms. Also, two existing single level buildings were renovated and the exterior space including lighting and landscape was redesigned. The architect states, “The challenge was to establish an intimate church campus by creating a new exterior courtyard that would act as a catalyst for community interaction and as the physical nexus joining new and existing buildings.”
Design: KieranTimberlake Associates. Positioned between a dense grove of loblolly pines and a lush foreground of saltmeadow cordgrass and the bay, Loblolly House seeks to deeply fuse the natural elements of this barrier island to architectural form. The timber foundations are at once pragmatic because they minimize the disruption to the ground, and poetic because the dwelling is literally founded on the tree. At the same time, the north, south and east elevations are of the forest. The design of the staggered vertical rain screen was literally composed over a site photograph to evoke the abstraction of solids and voids of the forest wall.

In the southern Chinese city of Dongguan – a city of several million – a basketball stadium has been completed to plans by architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp). The building can be seen from afar and is a landmark that provides identity and orientation to the people in the new district of Liaobu.

Design: Oppenheim Architecture + Design – La Muna, a complete renovation and minor addition of one of the first homes built in the ultra-exclusive enclave of Red Mountain in Aspen, Colorado. 30 years of haphazard of this rustic ski chalet with all its imperfections—an homage to the Japanese sensibility of wabi sabi. Clad in reclaimed regional wood, stone and steel the home is intended to make a minimal impact on the natural resources and merge effortlessly with its idyllic surroundings of forest, stream and mountain.
