250 Wynwood in Miami, Florida condo property
250 Wynwood, by NYC-based architectural design firm, DFA, is an artist’s canvas. The project exquisitely links the contemporary 11-unit condominium to its creative Miami neighborhood. Each unit features 10-foot ceilings with vast open living spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows and oversized private balconies. A common rooftop deck with sweeping views of Downtown Miami offers a dramatic vantage point for all residents and their guests.
DFA, led by Principal Laith Sayigh, envisaged this building as a showcase for art. A continuous ribbon of curtainwall snakes down the face of the building between the interlocking ground planes at each level.
The resultant balconies are a canvas presented to the public and residents alike; the structure brilliantly rendering and reflecting color and form on its exterior. Site-specific artwork is curated by Miami gallerist phenom and Art Basel exhibitor Anthony Spinello, with new pieces rotated through the space on an on-going basis.
This unique development is located in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. The area is home to over 70 art galleries, retail stores and eclectic bars. The District, once a thriving industrial area, is undergoing revitalization and fast becoming a vibrant, in-demand, mixed-use neighborhood, perfect for live, work and play.
DFA, located in New York City, is a full-service architectural design firm specializing in contemporary, site-responsive and functional design. Well known for its commercial, retail and urban residential projects, DFA combines a passion for contemporary culture with careful understanding of its constant ebb and flow; consistently generating intelligent yet unexpected results for its clients The studio’s works include large scale urban transformations, new construction, interiors and furniture; regardless of scale, their design process always yields works of formal elegance and conceptual rigor.

One of the great opportunities for urban design and shaping equitable public space in the city is in Wynwood. Historically a community for working-class families and more recently the centre of the city’s burgeoning urban art scene.

The inaugural gala for the Norton Museum of Art was held in West Palm Beach, Florida, celebrating its transformation by Foster + Partners. The renovation and expansion of the museum has added new galleries and much needed facilities for its visitors, while reinstating the axial arrangement and clarity of circulation of the original 1940s building.
