Clifton Apartments
The 38 apartments that comprise Clifton are designed to engage with the changing nature of inner city urban living. Natural light is maximised while the apartment interiors are stripped back, allowing for a personal interpretation with each apartment.
With Clifton, we witness the evolution of a paradigm, an architecture specific to its location achieved via social behaviours and trends.
Take a look at Prahran demographics: 11,191 people consisting of 51.2% female and 48.8% male, median age of 33, 54.6% of homes are rented, with a median weekly wage of $961 per week. 39% are professionals, 17% managers, and 13% clerical. What these statistics represent are an educated, young, and wealthy demographic, who do not live at home.
Clifton engages with a completely new social epoch where the nature of living and how we live is questioned and reconsidered. The apartments engage with the changing nature of inner city urban living, taking advantage of the narrow alleys and sub-communities these create; maximising space and stripping back the interiors to allow for a personal interpretation within each apartment.
