Shard Place London Apartments
Shard Place, the highly anticipated development from the team behind The Shard, has reached practical completion, marking a major construction milestone for the 27-storey glass building. Designed by internationally acclaimed architectural practice Renzo Piano Building Workshop, this world-class residential offering comprises 176 finely crafted apartments exclusively available to rent. Development manager Sellar has worked in collaboration with Real Estate Management (UK) Limited (REM), which is responsible for the asset and property management of the site.
Set to welcome its first residents from June, each of the homes, which range in size from studios to three-bedroom apartments, are furnished by multidisciplinary design studio State of Craft. Ranging from 425 sq. ft. to 1,486 sq. ft, each residence is designed to foster connection to the surrounding outdoor urban landscape, with key features that include floor to ceiling windows, triple aspect views of the capital, naturally ventilated winter gardens, and curated artworks by Richeldis Fine Art.
Redefining lifestyle-led living whilst setting a new benchmark for London’s rental market, future residents of Shard Place will have access to 12,000 sq. ft of luxury amenity spaces, set across three distinct levels. At its zenith, London’s highest outdoor swimming pool is majestically set against the city’s skyline, complete with a landscaped sun deck and changing rooms, providing renters at Shard Place with the ultimate space to relax and unwind. Additional amenities include a 12-seater private dining room and kitchen, available to book with a private chef, a cinema, and state-of-theart wellness suite fully equipped with a gym, private studio, sauna, and steam room. Residents will also have use of a double-height orangery and library, opening onto an expansive outdoor terrace with striking views of St Paul’s Cathedral.
Complementing these amenities, additional benefits include 24-hour concierge, security and around the clock on-site maintenance as well as electric vehicle charging, exclusive car club membership and secure bicycle storage. Further services, available on request, include bespoke housekeeping and laundry provisions.
Completing the trilogy of buildings that make up the 2.5 million sq. ft mixed-used Shard Quarter – home to Western Europe’s tallest building, The Shard, and News UK’s headquarters, The News Building – Shard Place is ideally located in the heart of London Bridge. One of the fastest growing, historic neighbourhoods in the capital, where culture and business harmoniously coexist, Shard Place residents will live within walking distance of landmarks such as White Cube, Tate Modern, and the Tower of London as well as some of the city’s finest gastronomy, from the vibrant Borough Market to the Michelin-starred excellence of OMA and Trivet.
George Hankinson, Head of Residential at Real Estate Management (UK) Limited comments:
“We are thrilled to achieve practical completion for this esteemed London address. It is with great pride that we unveil the impeccable residential rental offering of this landmark development for the first time. Following this momentous milestone, we look forward to welcoming our first residents in the weeks ahead.”
Expertly designed so that it appears to ‘float’ sixteen metres above ground level, Shard Place provides the immediate locale with an additional 13,000 sq. ft. of landscaped public realm – by Dan Pearson Studio – and 9,000 sq. ft. of retail space, with tenants soon to be announced.
With prices starting at £700 pw, apartments are now available to rent via JLL and Knight Frank.

Apartments are available in four design palettes:
The Bermondsey Collection
A sense of relaxed elegance inspired by an indoor/outdoor lifestyle that extends from the living spaces into the private winter gardens.
1. Bermondsey Light
Off-white walls, limed oak and white lacquered furniture are combined with soft, light upholstery and delicate accent colours to create a fresh and airy interior that responds to the sky.
2. Bermondsey Dark:
The natural texture of brushed, limed oak and fibre rugs are set against taupe walls, tan leather accents and green fabric elements. The earthy feel of the finishes and textures evoke a natural setting inspired by botany and outdoor living.
The Borough Collection
A selection of finishes, texture, furniture and artwork that shares many of the qualities of the Bermondsey Collection, but introduces bolder colours and greater contrast between light and dark elements.
3. Borough Light
The warmth of the natural oak furniture, taupe bedheads and rugs work together with the richness of aubergine and gold tones found in the tactile upholstery, accent cushions and bedhead walls. White walls and cushions introduce a fresh contrast to this contemporary, urban palette.
4. Borough Dark
Black oak furniture and gold accents for cushions and upholstery provide a striking contrast to the light walls and floors. Grey and blue are introduced as additional, cooler tones to balance the overall palette.
