Hawkins\Brown wins planning for 120 homes in East London

Hawkins\Brown’s design for a £30 million development of 120 homes and 2,000 sq m of business space on Fish Island, East London has been approved by the London Legacy Development Corporation’s planning committee.

Monier Road West will form an important part of the area’s post-Olympic ambitions, helping to define its evolving character between the existing communities of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and the emerging Queen Elizabeth Park.
Hawkins\Brown has designed Monier Road West as a strong urban block that respects the existing street pattern. Broad pedestrian routes have been plotted through the development to increase the permeability of the former light industrial site and to extend the characteristic Hackney Wick street plan of yards and passages into the development.
