Floating Architecture : Marina Club
The Han River has a very wide river width (approx. 1km) compared to other rivers that flow through major cities This width has natural separated the city into the north and south part.
And because of flooding it is difficult to develop a physical connection between north and south apart from the bridges. With these constraints in mind this project has evolved with special emphasis on these following points.
1. Changes on the water level
2. The physical conditions of the waterfront
3. The materials constraints of a floating building
4. Sustainable eco-friendly architecture
5. System that allows for future expansion and contraction
6. A waterfront that is open to the public
7. A design that can adapt to the urban expansion and development
We summarized this points with the title Wave Soul (We have Seoul) and used the wave as our motif to develop the design, for our public plan we design the Rainbow Wave and created seven waterfront areas that can be enjoyed by the public.
