Set in one of Bali’s most iconic surf destinations, ORAMA exists between energy and stillness. Close to the rhythm of Uluwatu’s surf culture, cafes, and restaurants, yet tucked away above the coastline, it offers a sense of privacy, open views, and the constant sound of the sea.

With only five rooms, each space is designed as a personal refuge, minimal, tactile, and calm. Filtered light and open-air elements create a seamless connection between inside and out, offering a place to reset after long days in the sun and surf.

Located above the iconic waves of Suluban Beach, ORAMA was created as a space for observation, where raw materiality and geometric forms come together. It offers an intimate, design-led hospitality experience shaped by light, shadow, and texture.

Its architecture and atmosphere invite guests to slow down, to look, to feel, to reflect, and to experience the space not just as a stay, but as something deeper. A place that feels both grounded and contemplative, like a modern sanctuary overlooking the ocean.

“To me, Orama is an exercise in reduction, an architecture shaped more by what is removed than what is added. It’s about restraint, allowing materials like concrete, light, and shadow to exist in their purest form, without distraction. There is something powerful in the way an artwork can hold feeling, how a single piece can carry atmosphere, emotion, and stillness all at once.

To reinforce this idea, I carefully selected and placed works by different artists throughout the space. In that sense, the architecture becomes a kind of composition, quiet, intentional, and distilled, where light, texture, and proportion come together to create something that lingers. Maybe that has something in common, but each work has its own story to say.”
