Huvila K Finland island summer villa
The ideal leisure destination is located on a remote island, surrounded by water. The Huvila K retreat, which serves as an escape for the residents, is a linear entity that adapts to the changing landscape in the bosom of nature.
The summer villa planned for the island and the separate sauna building are connected by roof surfaces. The architecture and interior of the buildings, as well as the bridge leading to the island, are part of an integral whole.
Beautiful views of the lake generally open in the direction of the evening sun to the west.
The starting point of the design was to take into account the surrounding nature and plant the buildings as naturally as possible on the island without shouting their existence. The goal was to effectively maximize all available building rights in order to enable a practical and desired space program for spending free time.
The intention was to realize a complex that is as easy to maintain and maintenance-free as possible, where the surrounding nature is brought into the appearance of the premises. Technically, the buildings wanted to be implemented as an ecological, low-energy-consuming entity. The world of materials and colors had to blend in with nature and be as durable as possible.

Huvilanranta will be designed by prize-winning JKMM Architects and be carried out so as to protect the grass areas of the park. At the same time, improvements will be made to the Huvila concert area, the venue for paid events. During the Helsinki Festival, 12 August to 4 September, the Huvila Festival Tent will expand to Tokoinranta waterfront park.
