Drawing of the Year 2022

Archisource presents the Drawing of the Year 2022, the annual, international standout drawing competition – open to all and free to enter! With over £30,000 GBP ($35,000 USD) worth of prizes, the Drawing of the Year celebrates the very best imagery created by professionals and students around the world. This year all entries will receive a free Affinity V2 Universal Licence!

The competition showcases the diverse varieties, types, styles and functions of imagery created each year. Submissions are open to all disciplines and can be created in any medium or style, however they must convey: architecture, design or the built environment. The competition is completely free for all to enter; the mission and purpose of Archisource is to support and unite the creative community at all skill levels, and Archisource is very proud to bring you the biggest and most inclusive competition of its kind.

The Drawing of the Year 2022 is brought to you in partnership with Affinity, the award-winning graphic design, image editing and page layout software used by architects around the world. Submit your best drawings to receive a free Affinity V2 Universal Licence including Affinity Designer 2, Affinity Photo 2 and Affinity Publisher 2 for Mac, iPad and Windows PC worth £144.99 GBP ($169.99 USD).

The widely recognised aspirational awards series celebrates those that have truly excelled in creating standout drawings and imagery. The competition has five award categories: the Drawing of the Year Award, Architectural Award in partnership with Bentley’s MicroStation, Environmental Award, Narrative Award and the Visualisation Award.

With over £30,000 GBP ($35,000 USD) worth of prizes to be won this is one of the biggest prize collections out there! From Bentley’s MicroStation software licences – to ARki PRO subscription licences – to timeless furniture from Fritz Hansen – to massive design bundles of creative tools, stationery and studio essentials, you can win the ultimate studio set up + more! This year Archisource collaborated with dukta to design bespoke award trophies and commendation awards created from dukta’s flexible wood.

Ashley Hewson, Managing Director of Serif, the developers of Affinity, says: ‘Affinity has a proud history of supporting up-and-coming professionals and architects, so we’re delighted to be partnering with Archisource for the Drawing of the Year 2022, and supporting every entrant with a free Affinity V2 Universal Licence. I’m sure this year’s contest will once again showcase the very best talent and we look forward to seeing the entries.”

The competition awards the most accomplished drawings; in addition to the winners, a series of commendations will be awarded to notable works. The winners, commendations and shortlist drawings will also receive significant international publication.

Celebrating the diverse talents of creatives around the world, Archisource welcomes creatives from all backgrounds and drawings of all types. Whether it be hand-drawn or painted, rendered or collaged, detailed linework or diagrammatic – the judging panel wants to see your creations.
