Project Description
Situated in east edge of Yangzhou’s new developed area in the east of famous Beijing-Hangzhou great canals started 2500 years ago, Three-courtyard community center is in between the newly finished call center office blocks on west and local farmer village on east. Three-courtyard Community center is the place served as recreation, dining & meeting for nearby office and village people.
The community center consisted of three Courtyard blocks, with the theme of each courtyard in bamboo, stone and water pond formulate village like structure. Bamboo, stone and water are basically three essential elements works in traditional Chinese garden.
The typological thinking of this project is evolved from architect’s interests of prototype of Vernacular public structures and strong impression of continuous pitch roof profile in local farmer villages. Local river mud red bricks are used both in structure and constructing interesting façade with fabricant textures from local building culture.
