Brazil launches Business Incubator for Young Architects and Urbans Planners. Founded in 2019, Atelier 1901 is a space dedicated to promoting capacitation and career-building advice for newly-graduatedprofessionals.

In November, Curitiba became the stage for another innovative and pioneering initiative, Atelier 1901, an incubator for recent graduates in Architecture and Urban Planning. Unique as a business model, this project was idealized by the architects Ismael Gustavo Zanardini and Thatiane Botto de Barros, who are partners at Studio BaZa Architecture and Interion Design.

Aiming to join professionals in a space that transcends the coworking concept, Atelier 1901 not only provides individual working areas, but also promotes training for the recent professionals through practicein projects with the support of experienced architects and a network of technical and artistic partners. In addition, Atelier 1901 also promises to be a hub of project opportunities through public-private partnerships.

“We are a community, a space for collaboration and exchange of experiences between recent graduates from Architecture and Urban Planning and other professionals. Our goal is to empower these young professionals in a place where they can develop their skills and establish themselves in the initial steps of their careers, not fearing possible mistakes.”

About the Project:
– The wall tiles are custom! Signed by the artist and architect Rômulo Lass (https://rlass.com/), reproduces in tiles the geography of the square (Praça Osório) in front of the building built in the 1940s
– The wall in concrete texture is Microcement (https://www.monofloor.com.br/). A cementitious and polymeric coating that stands out for its strength and versatility
– The Imbuia wooden floor is original from the 40’s
– The workstations were designed by the Studo Baza Architecture and Interior (insta: @studio_baza) and manufactured Daysi Design carpentry
– The task chairs were manufactured by Cavaletti (http://www.cavaletti.com.br/)
– The arm chairs are from Sergio Fahrer and Jack Faherer´s design (https://www.fahrer.com.br/)
– The backsplash tiles are signed by the artist and architect Rômulo Lass (https://rlass.com/). They are the Grimpa Tiles
– The cabinets are custom and were designed by the Studo Baza Architecture and Interior (insta: @studio_baza) and manufactured by Daysi Design carpentry
– The sink was manufactured by Decorea (https://www.decorea.com.br/) in Glacier White Corian. The faucet was manufactured by Deca
– The secretary desk were designed by Maria José Carneiro and commercialized by Mommentum (http://www.momenttumloja.com.br/)
– There are phone booths in the back. On the walls inside them is a custom wallpaper designed by the artist and architect Erwin Zaidowicz (insta: @erwinzaidowicz) and manufactured by JVN Products (http://www.jvnproducts.com.br/).
