A colourful project using 2500 plastic bricks designed by Atelier Microméga wins 2017 Festival des Architectures Vives of Montpellier jury’s special mention. The French architectural festival’s theme was ‘Emotion’. This playful structure is just three metres cubed in size.
A restrained building, beautifully reflected in an expansive pool. An old pine tree has been saved by architects Continuation Studio to command the courtyard, The project opens up through expansive glazing to the surrounding dense woodland and hills.
An office interior brought to life by an unusual curving stair clad in bamboo. The design by architects Cun-Design eschews “reinforced concrete and the string light mirror glass”. Instead bamboo elements bring nature into the space, offsetting the standard metal office furniture.

The SFA house is a refurbishment project. Architects Arqmov Workshop initially advised a new project, given previous unfortunate refurbishment work on the home, which was 30 years old. The property was stripped its original structure.
“White” is a space full of the color white, on the floor, walls, glass partitions, tables, chairs, linen curtains, all designed to make people feel relaxed and calm. This Shenzhen interior however is warmed up by the retro red brick wall, and the informal and unpolished architectural style.

A design by Matter Design & FR|SCH Projects aiming to encourage inventiveness and playful exploration, located in an area designed by The Architects Collaborative in the 1950s. The small building in the woods has ‘no purpose’, but in reality its intention is to facilitate discovery.
Design: Aedas. This new Unilever Indonesia office houses all employees from four separate offices in Jakarta under one roof. Aedas architectural and interior designs embody the global company’s vision, values and European heritage within the Indonesian context.
Located near Piazza Castello in the historic heart of the city, a new building designed by Iotti + Pavarani Architetti with engineer Roberto Tosetti from Artecna. The 23,500 sqm building contains 800 work stations plus a conference room for 280 people.
Design: Ian Barker Gardens. The front garden is traditional in layout and contains bluestone paving and a soft, romantic perennial planting palette, perfectly complementing the architecture of the heritage house.
