Hamiltons Architects project in Manchester
Exchange Greengate will link Salford and Manchester through a new public square, river walkway and connecting bridge. Expected to attract over £600m of private sector investment, it will be a new, vibrant, mixed-use development, just minutes from Victoria Station and the commercial heart of Manchester, bounded by the River Irwell, Chapel Street, Blackfriars Road and Trinity Way.
The designers of the public spaces at Exchange Greengate in Central Salford are Whitelaw Turkington and Arup. The 13-hectare, mixed-use development will create a new urban quarter linking the cities of Salford and Manchester, with a stunning public realm at its heart.

London Architects Practice Information
Hamiltons Architects studio was based on the Kings Road, London, SW3
Commencing in Hitchin, Hertfordshire in 1966, the architecture firm expanded to London in 1971. The design firm continued to grow in various markets and, over time, became involved with projects in Germany, Kuwait, Egypt, Libya, Venezuela, Italy, and the USA.
From the early 1980s the architecture firm has largely operated from London – and in 2006 the three London architects offices were combined into a modernised old commercial building near Paddington.
The 2008 financial crisis saw this architecture practice fundamentally re-shaped. The Hamiltons Architects office is now located in the lively design quarter of Clerkenwell adjacent to the City of London financial district.
The architecture firm are busily engaged on a programme of interesting projects – both in the UK as well as overseas.
Tim Hamilton is Chairman, and the founder of the architecture practice.
