Eldridge Smerin was recommended by Wallpaper* magazine and Wink Media to Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah, the dynamic fashion entrepreneur who was planning to develop a new department store for luxury brands on the waterfront of Kuwait City.
The architecture firm was responsible for the main entrance area and lounge, public spaces and staircases, two levels of multi-brand fashion space, restaurant and café, as well as the landscaping around the building.

The new Business and Intellectual Property Centre designed by this architecture practice is the first architectural project undertaken within the British Library since the building opened in 1998. Constructed within one of the existing reading rooms, the new centre provides a unique resource for small businesses, inventors and entrepreneurs to benefit from the Library’s collections and specialist advisors. The centre is an oasis of contemporary design and technology within the more conservative environment of the reading rooms but acknowledging the high standard of the existing building, Eldridge Smerin has matched this with materials and detailing of a comparable quality. This architecture practice is now designing the new education centre.

Epsom House
This modern English property was a RIBA Awards winner, 19 May 2011
Externally, this house in Epsom is a modern and uncompromising work of contemporary architecture, but the imposing geometry gives way to a surprising and delightful homely, warm and welcoming interior.
