Sloane Street Master Plan

John McAslan + Partners has won a prestigious commission from Cadogan Estates to carry out an initial feasibility study and strategy that will develop a new vision for Sloane Street.

Working with Space Syntax, who will support masterplanning and design ideas with evidence-based urban design analysis, the intention is to unlock the potential of this high-profile but under-performing street. The study will assess existing land use, street furniture, accessibility, utilities, movement patterns and landscape in order to understand how these physical and functional conditions affect the street’s economic, social and cultural character.

Hugh Seaborn of Cadogan Estates comments: “We look forward to seeing JMP’s Masterplan and Vision document that will then form the basis of consultation with planners, local businesses and residents. This is an exciting new chapter for Sloane Street, an opportunity to create a more dynamic cityscape connecting Knightsbridge and Sloane Square.”

Andy Harris, Head of the JMP Landscape Design Team, adds: “Our aspiration is to develop a physically attractive and commercially effective public realm strategy that will re-inforce Sloane Street as one of the world’s premier retail destinations.”
