Architect: Aedas. Shenzhen Luohu Friendship Trading Centre is a redevelopment of a current department store to be renewed into a new skyscraper with a 7-storey retail podium at the heart of Luohu in China.
Design: Mercurio Design Lab, Architects. The architects state, “marketing of the building…suggested that its characteristic form had been inspired by the Calla lily, a tropical flower native to southern Africa, the shape actually owed more to the female human form ─ think Matisse’s ‘Blue Nude’.”

Architects: Goettsch Partners. Developed by R&F Properties Co. and located in the new city center of Zujiang, the 296-meter tower totals 66 stories and is currently the 7th tallest completed building in Guangzhou, according to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.

Design: Studio Libeskind, Architects. Downtown Tower-k18B is a “harmonious progression of glass volumes” – an 18-storey tower above a 6-storey podium, connected by a luminous glass-covered galeria, according to the architects.
Design: Bill Pedersen – Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) architects. 90-story, 1,296-ft-tall office tower now 15 floors above street level. The 2.6-m-sqft tower is be the second-tallest office building in New York, taller than the Empire State Building and home to the highest outdoor observation deck in the city.
Design: PLP Architecture. Construction of The Pinnacle replacement may be delayed following the referendum result. The office tower includes a restaurant and bar occupying the upper levels plus a free public viewing gallery.
