The new Appleton Academy in Bradford is the transformation of two existing schools into one new all through 3-16 academy for 1,300 pupils. A full interdisciplinary BDP design team worked on the project which utilised BIM throughout the entire design process.
Design: Mary Laheen Architects. The new extension is located at the street edge of the site on a busy road leading from the city centre to the west. The limited site necessitated a three- or four-storey building located towards the edge of the existing playground and therefore the provision of play space at roof level.

Mouriz School Center Portugal, a two-storey school center building, including a kindergarten and an elementary school located in Mouriz, Paredes, Northern of Portugal.
The main objective here was to add a completely new, modern and welcoming administration and reception area in front of the existing entrance to suit the size of the school today and better encourage parents to access the school and facilitate dealing with visitors.
