The project came out of the Sorrell Foundation’s ‘joinedupdesignforschool’ programme where pupils are given control and responsibility as clients. From inception through to completion, the project team worked directly for a client team of 11 pupils selected from years 9 and 10.

The new Bagsvaerd School in Denmark has been formed by amalgamating two local schools.
Split levels, double-height rooms and a high degree of transparency characterise the spacious complexity of this Danish education building, while the overall design and spaces have been well worked out with the finer details carefully considered in relation to colour, texture and materials.

The ancient paper factory is a symbol of an important part of the local working class memory. The architectural conversion suggested by the agency had three principle axis of development.

On an abandoned suburb, the project made waking up every day to attend school under an outstanding green-roofed structure as a child’s right. The Marcel Sembat High School offers technical education about motors and vehicle mechanics. It demands vast spaces with high ceilings and large surfaces. It’s located in a declining industrial suburb of the port of Rouen, France.

The new Auchmuty High School is part of the Fife Council’s Building Fife’s Future programme to construct a series of schools throughout the County to deliver the Curriculum for Excellence in high quality, stimulating educational environments which are the hub of the community.
Liong Lie Architects designed the new interior of the NTI head office in Leiden, Holland. NTI stands for more than 70 years of cutting-edge distance education. The new learning according to NTI is the ideal combination of online learning and classroom meetings.
Design: Joey Ho Design Limited. Spring is a newly established learning center for children with the aim to help them achieve their development and learning potential during the crucial growth years. With this philosophy in mind, the designer came up with a concept that would enrich the learning experience — dual perspective. By bringing together the perspectives of a child and an adult, and manifested in the space, furniture and details, it is hoped to facilitate a dialogue and interaction between the children, parents and educators.

The project, to be located at what is now the school parking lot, consists of an organic garden, a mobile greenhouse, a kitchen classroom, and a systems wall containing a rainwater cistern, solar batteries and a chicken coop

The New Ergolding Secondary School, Germany, design by Projektarbeitsgemeinschaft Behnisch Architekten Architekturbüro Leinhäupl + Neuber, within a far-stretching natural and artificial landscape. It provides the much needed secondary school capacities to the region around the Bavarian town of Ergolding, close to Landshut.
