The boiler house, located in the Border town of Melrose, demonstrates Womersley’s sculptural talent in designing with concrete, adding flair to functional necessity. The austerity of the design is softened by the care in the level of finish.
Metz & Co Showroom Amsterdam building
Rietveld’s architectural contribution for this building was the circular glazed display room or pavilion using a lightweight steel structure; the cupola is fully glazed with a slender steel frame structure, and also the bold letters ‘Metz & Co’ on the roof
