Architecture awards prizes

The European Commission and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe have announced the names of the works competing in the 2019 European Union Prize for the Mies van der Rohe Award.

The Aga Khan Award for Architecture announce members of the Master Jury for 2017-2019 Cycle. Established in 1977, the award is given every three years to projects that set new standards of excellence in architecture, planning practices, historic preservation and landscape architecture.

AIA Gold Medal 2019 Winner: architect Richard Rogers – his commitment to our cities, environment, and humanity has resulted in a wealth of honors, while cementing his place in architectural history. He was born in Florence and trained as an architect in London and at Yale University.

Chris Hildrey of Hildrey Studio wins RIBA President’s Awards for Research 2018 for a project which reconnects homeless people with local support services using location data.

World Building of the Year 2018 award won by Kampung Admiralty, designed by WOHA, at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Amsterdam. The substantial mixed-use building is Singapore’s first integrated public development.

World Architecture Festival Day Two Winners – a Japanese nursery school, Belarusian Memorial Chapel and a Indian student residence among WAF Awards 2018 category winners.

AR Emerging Architecture Awards 2018 Winners: Carla Juaçaba Studio from Brazil, a key project is their chapel for the Pavilion of the Holy See at the Venice Biennale.

The Royal Institute of British Architects announce Professor Murray Fraser as recipient of the 2018 RIBA Annie Spink Award for excellence in architectural education. He is Professor of Architecture and Global Culture and Vice-Dean for Research at esteemed Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL).
