Waa Cow! already had a presence and existing branding but they felt like the spaces that they had done previously couldn’t showcase their eccentric and fun side; expressions of “waa cow!” didn’t come through as strongly.

We came in to realign the design direction so that it matches the brand values and designed it to be a more fun and vibrant place
to reflect that.

What were the key challenges?
Most challenging part was the counter. The client wanted a bar counter that was prominent all-around, on the inside and from the outside.

However, the layout is odd-shaped and in order to create a centre bar feature we had to work around its limitations. We had to play with size and proportion making sure it’s not so big such that it inhibits flow or obscures visibility, or too small that it becomes a non-statement.

What were the solutions?
For this centrepiece bar feature, we punched out holes wherever we could to give visibility while making sure there was enough storage for day-to-day operations.

By having the bar as centrepiece, one knows they’re in for a good time. We drew attention it by customising patterns to create this expression of fun. The speckled pattern take inspiration from confetti, reiterating that this place is all about celebrations. We also used lighting features to highlight and accent the bar and the brand eccentricities.

Brand colours were prominently featured throughout the space to remind and emphasise the fun and vibrancy of the brand.
