London’s Zaha Hadid Architects was shortlisted in the 2nd Sejong Cultural Centre competition, Seoul. ZHA create an interconnected sequence of indoor and outdoor public spaces that are enveloped by nature. The buildings, which include residential, “officetel” and retail elements, consist of slender, sharply angled mini-towers cantilevered around a central core. The highly contemporary design aesthetic is informed by aspects of traditional Korean culture.
Lithuanian architects’ proposal based on a simple concept: recreate the link that once existed with a spatial structure. The architectural design is “atmospherically reminiscent to a pictorial passage” through the two discontinued mountain peaks.
Design: Form4 Architecture, Architects. This 1,300-seat concert hall building is located on an ocean side bluff. Designed to resound the intensity and vibrancy of Korean composer Isang Yun’s music.

Architects: ATELIER BRÜCKNER. The Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang has opened its doors. It is the largest centre of automotive culture in Korea, a brand world used by car maker Hyundai to present itself to a broad public.
Design: morphosis architects. The Kolon Group, based in Seoul, is a diverse corporation whose activities range from textiles, chemicals, and sustainable technologies, to original clothing lines in the athletic and ready-to-wear fashion markets.

UNStudio in collaboration with Heerim win competition to design 32-tower masterplan for the Eunma Housing Development in Daechi-Dong, Seoul. The approach is to be a blueprint for resident-driven development projects.

MVRDV Architects design Paradise City, a 9,800sqm entertainment plaza which sits within a larger tourist hub just 10 minutes from Incheon Airport in Seoul. Two buildings shape a retail complex and a nightclub within fluid, yet monolithic, forms.
Design: Matteo Cainer Architects. The proposal for the new Suncheon Art Platform is strategically placed amidst historical and cultural trails of the old Suncheon Wall, acting thus as a new cultural hub and gateway for the Old City.
