The building design was a partnership between Pritzker Prize winner Paulo Mendes da Rocha and Metro Arquitetos office. It brings together a theater with capacity for 1,300 spectators, a museum with 3000 sqm of exhibition area, plaza, library, auditorium and café.

This small, richly detailed building integrates internal and external spaces. Free of doors the bar appropriates the street corner. Peeling walls reveal the structure of the building, framing and enhancing the kitchen and counter.

Structural Archeology sought to activate this now unused space, coating the roof framework with a translucent screen, and turning the bleak void into an active venue.
