The Aspen Art Museum opened In 1979 at the ren­o­vated Holy Cross Power Plant on the banks of the Roaring Fork River. For 33 years that facil­ity has served the mis­sion of the orga­ni­za­tion well, fos­ter­ing a pro­gram of art, dia­logue, and cre­ativ­ity that has grown into a major cul­tural insti­tu­tion. The new building by this celebrated Japanese architect is now structurally complete.

Location: Nashville, Tennessee – this project comprises the renewal of the university’s original student center, a 1925 Tudor Revival building designed by Henry C. Hibbs as a World War I memorial that is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Bruner/Cott’s initial study developed a reuse program to take advantage of the central location of this small building while respecting its historical significance, details, and finishes.

James B. Hunt Jr. Library, NCSU Building

Design: Snøhetta with Clark Nexsen: this new building serves both as NC State’s second main library and the intellectual and social heart of the university’s Centennial Campus. The Hunt Library also houses the Institute for Emerging Issues, a think tank led by former North Carolina Governor James B. Hunt, academic offices, visualization and digital media labs and an auditorium.
