The chapel in la Calera has a basic geometry that tries to alter the territory as little as possible. It uses the natural features of the environment, the wind and the light, to create an essential harmony.
The client’s brief was delightfully loose; provide new living and kitchen space for a growing young family and create an open plan with plenty of natural light and high ceilings.
No walls were introduced, instead spaces are defined between cabinetry and joinery items. None of these new items go all the way to the ceiling which makes even the smallest spaces feel like part of the larger warehouse volume.
