Architects: Grimshaw. The Laboratory at Dulwich College is a state-of-the-art science building situated in the centre of the school’s historic campus in south London. The £14 million Grimshaw-designed scheme has officially been opened and is the first completed school project in the practice’s education portfolio.
Design: Architecture Architecture. Drawing near to the doorway of Kite House, the visitor is welcomed by pockets of shade nestled among sheltering brick walls. A vast pivot window and a large pivot door throw themselves wide open, exposing the full throat of the house to the garden.

Design: Bloem en Lemstra Architecten. Set on the Dutch island of Vlieland, this small holiday home features a fully retractable façade that allows it to open up to the outside environment. The house has been designed by architecture studio Bloem and Lemstra Architects on the behalf of a client.
