Design: BuckleyGrayYeoman, architects. The latest Fred Perry store, in the new retail development EmQuartier in Bangkok: a contemporary and elegant boutique, designed to fit in with the selection of international luxury brands selected by the mall.
Design: Porebski Architects. Situated on a corner site on the hills overlooking Tamarama Beach the house is like a sculpture on the site. With stone forming the base a sculptured curved exterior creates the lighter upper levels.
Design: MMXX Architects. The building is set in the historic centre of Varna, near the port, in an area known for trade and town administration. It takes up a corner plot framed by blind walls. The 5 floors are designed as offices to let, together or separately.
The next chapter of the $2.9 billion regeneration of Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds starts with the construction of Kings Co-op, a mixed and adaptive re-use development designed by Australasian architects The Buchan Group.
Architect: Niall Mclaughlin Architects. The primitive hut has a long anthropological pedigree as well as an architectural one. This is a sophisticated primitive hut, worthy of Murcutt or Leplastrier but set not on the edge of the Bush but on a Hampshire lake.
Design: Henke Schreieck Architekten. Four city districts with different structures meet at the Erste Campus site: The location at the former Südbahnhof Railway Station at the opposite of the Swiss Garden was the primary starting point for the urban planning concept.
Design: 51N4E architects. The Albania building complements the most important monuments of Tirana: the Skanderbeg statue, the oldest mosque, the clock tower and – at the foot of the tower – a memorial tomb for the city’s founder Suleiman Pasha.
Design: MUMA, architects – the client’s competition brief expressed an aim to make the internationally important collection of fine art, textiles and wallpaper, accessible to a wider range of visitors, to make better use of the existing gallery spaces and to establish a relationship with the surrounding grounds and park.
The dominant feature of the Corbusian building is the rippling facade that uses a clever smoothing device to create waves from a sawtooth plan (the block is double-loaded ie from a central corridor).
