The Hotel Ukraina is one of seven Stalinist skyscrapers whose silhouettes have come to form an instantly recognisable symbol of the city. Constructed in the 1950s, the hotel building is an architectural landmark.

Alfonso Architects has been awarded the building project for the Museum of the American Arts and Crafts Movement, MAACM, to be built in St. Petersburg, FL, for collector Rudy Ciccarello and the Two Red Roses Foundation (TRRF).

Alberto Alfonso, AIA, will be the lead architect on the 90,000-sqft museum, which is scheduled to open in early 2016.

The entire interior was done in white and black pop-art colours, with the addition of orange fabric – as a characteristic element of clothing of convicts in prison.
