Hollywood Sign – Hotel Design

Design: Bay Arch

This project is about preserving the image of the Hollywood sign and at the same time make use of its unique location.

The Hollywood sign has grown to become one of the most photographed symbols all over the world. The sign is an image of Hollywood and an industry of entertainment. The sign is placed beautifully in the Hollywood Hills, and from the sign you have one of the best views of Los Angeles.

With this Hollywood sign hotel we want to invite people into the Hollywood sign and the Hollywood world of entertainment. Imagine to stay in one of these letters, enjoy the spectacular view of Los Angeles and explore the world of Hollywood.

The Hollywood Sign Hotel will have a height of 105 feet ( today 45 feet). There we can have 308 rooms divided into 10 floors and an observation deck. Behind the letters up against the hillside we have all the amenities, such as – Conference room, Movie theatre, Pool area, Restaurants, a Hollywood Sign Museum, Cafées etc. In stead of being just a sign, it can be so much more.

First of all it could be a landmark you actually could visit and tourists would get even closer to the Hollywood world. Each room could have a different theme showing the history of Hollywood. The Hotel facilities fits perfectly with big events such as Golden Globe and the Oscars – let’s make the Hollywood Sign come to life !!!

Bay arch was founded in 1966. Since then the company has completed 4000 projects in 40 countries.

Bay arch is a danish archtectural practice with offices in ringkøbing and copenhagen. Jutland’s countryside, the old market town ringkøbing and copenhagen’s urban life are all sources of our daily inspiration and creativity.

We mainly take on projects involving designing and constructing buildings and we have solved tasks within all areas such as hospitals, housing for the elderly, shopping malls, hotels, marinas and leisure centres.

Bay arch is a registered trade mark. We consider our architecture as a product ment to ensure space and opportunities for life and joy in future buildings and cities.

Bay arch uses concepts in order to create new and visionary solutions in the architecture. When solving our tasks we seek to find the uniqueness in a given environment thus translating it into architecture. We want this architecture to depict the history of the surroundings in new ways and to offer new and interesting spatialities to the area.
