Villa Pjieve
Villa Pjieve, inspired by the peace and harmony of nature in the typical Lithuanian landscape of the lake shore, is a space for events with hotel-style rooms. The architectural idea of the project was to capture the beauty of nature in calm forms that blend in with the surrounding environment. The villa merges with the spreading meadows and grows into the forest on the shore of the lake.
The topography of the site is complex due to the area of the former archaeological settlement and the requirements for this lakeside architecture. After assessing the environment, the location and orientation of the house were chosen in such a way as to capture the most attractive views without disturbing the natural landscape.
Adapting to the terrain, the building is integrated into the slope, thus maintaining minimal architectural intervention when looking at the villa from the lake side. The natural black slate finish used for the facade is combined with thermo wood inserts.
Such a facade is resistant to weather conditions, and thanks to its color and texture, it blends seamlessly into the landscape. The architecture of the building aims to harmonize the landscape and the rural atmosphere, while creating a contrast to the typical rural architecture.
In the living room areas, windows of various shapes are formed, thus introducing rich layers of the surrounding landscapes. And in the main space of the hall and restaurant, there is a particularly strong sense of transparency and the blurred boundary between the interior and exterior space.
These spaces are separated from nature only by large panoramic windows. The landscape of the area was created almost from an empty field. Trees are grown, green islands are formed, a pond is incorporated, giving the space additional vibration and softness.
All means have been used to create feelings of special coziness and privacy, which are possible only when being in natural nature.
