Hard Rock Transformation To Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, USA
Las Vegas will welcome the opening of the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in autumn 2020. That promises to be a glittering lifestyle hotel from the Virgin Hotels brand – the hospitality arm of Richard Branson’s Virgin empire.
The project will utilise five different design firms whose job it is to redevelop the preexisting Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas resort. When Virgin Hotels Las Vegas opens in a few months time, it will feature 1,504 hotel rooms, 130,000 square feet of convention space, and no less than 60,000 square feet of renovated casino gaming floors.
It’s just one of the latest casino makeovers to hit the Las Vegas Strip. While there an undeniable trend towards online gaming throughout the world, with so many casino operators available. If you’re interested, you should find a complete list of some of the most highly-rated brands out there. But let’s see how the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas project might inject some life back into the casino lifestyle of Nevada city.
The Team Behind The Design Of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas
Virgin Hotels got given just eight months to convert the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino into the new lifestyle hotel. That meant that the company recruited several highly regarded design and construction partners who oversaw the ‘reimagining’ of the new property.
Key amongst these is the architecture firm Rockwell Group. This brand had previously worked with Virgin on their Virgin Hotels Chicago project that received acclaim for its whimsical and functional architectural elements. This New York company already has plenty of experience in Las Vegas with design projects such as the KAOS Nightclub at the Palms Casino Resort and the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Joining the team will be Taylor International Corporation who has helped develop some of Las Vegas’ most legendary sights such as Caesars Palace, The Venetian and the MGM Grand.
Completing the design line-up will be Los Angeles-based Studio Collective, the St Louis brand McCarthy Building Companies, and Klai Juba Wald Architects who were behind the eye-catching guitar-shaped hotel at the Seminole Hard Rock in Florida.
Key Features Of The Virgin Hotels Las Vegas
Luxury and comfort will be key selling points for Virgin Hotel’s new project in Las Vegas. Each of the 1,504 chambers, grand chamber suites and penthouse suites will include the brand’s patented bed and in-room technology. There will also be over five acres of space around the expansive swimming pool.
While Richard Branson has stated that the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas project will ‘paint the town red’, guests won’t have to venture too far out of the hotel to enjoy themselves. That is because the lifestyle hotel will include several outdoor event venues, alongside world-class restaurants, bars and lounges.
But key among the features will be the 60,000 square feet of renovated casino space. Details are still scarce about what this will include, but Virgin’s press release assures us that the casino gaming options will be ‘exhilarating and immersive.’
Not that life at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will all be about pleasure. The company has been keen to promote the fact that it will be a partner of Hilton’s elite Curio Collection. That means that its meetings and convention facilities will benefit from the Hilton Honours and Meeting Planner loyalty programs.
The fact that Virgin Hotels will be spending over $200 million on their renovation of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino may mean that they might not have the budget necessary to carry out an extensive redesign of the hotel’s exterior.
Anybody hoping to see an architectural flourish rivalling the likes of the Aqua Tower in Chicago may, therefore, be disappointed. But when it comes to the comfort and splendour featured within the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, most visitors would leave more than satisfied.
