Known as the Hamburg Arena for European matches.

The Hamburg football stadium was one of the 12 stadia used in the 2006 World Cup, hosting four group games and a quarter final.

Volksparkstadion is the home ground of German Bundesliga club Hamburger SV.

Address: Sylvesterallee 7, 22525 Hamburg, Germany

Construction cost: € 90-100 million; (1998 renovation)

Owner: HSV-Stadion HSV-Vermögensverwaltungs

This German football ground is the seventh-largest football stadium in Germany by capacity.

In 1998 HSV decided to replace the unpopular Volksparkstadion with a new stadium building, not only to help Germany get ready to host the Football World Cup, but also because it was getting increasingly more difficult to meet the safety standards with such an old facility.
