The redevelopment of this tired 1970s building next to Reading station has created an elegant new landmark for the town centre. dn-a stripped Thames Tower back to its frame, added four storeys and squared off the chamfered corners, a technically challenging process which required the integration of architecture and structural engineering design.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is located at Uxbridge Business Park.

Designing for collaboration and flexibility, dn-a have maximised the potential of the natural surroundings, whilst reviving a sense of community and connectivity.

The Clubhouse is a buzzy new addition to Uxbridge Business Park that has transformed the park into a forward thinking, wellbeing focused, biodiverse, inclusive community, that will continue to attract employee focused occupiers, and cater for the diverse businesses that already enjoy the tranquil grounds and dynamic workspace.

The intervention enhances the use of space by introducing a warmer palette of natural materials, which uplifts the atmosphere of the entrance, reception and passageway.

The design challenges dn-a faced in 2017 were that, despite its central location in Reading, Davidson lacked activity, animation and a clearly branded entrance.
