The pyramid of Khafre or of Chephren is the middle of the three Ancient Egyptian Pyramids of Giza. The structure is the second tallest and second largest of the group. It is the tomb of the Fourth-Dynasty pharaoh Khafre, who ruled c. 2558−2532 BC.
The pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest of the three main pyramids of the Giza pyramid complex, located on the Giza Plateau in the southwestern outskirts of Cairo, Egypt.

A limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with the head of a human and the body of a lion. Facing directly from west to east, it stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. The face of the Sphinx appears to represent the pharaoh Khafre.

Key architects who have designed buildings in the Egypt include Snohetta Architects (Oslo), Hamza Associates and Shahira H. Fahmy Architects. Zaha Hadid Architects have produced building designs for Cairo but nothing has been built at the time of writing (2017).

Egyptian Architecture Tours can focus on contemporary buildings, older buildings or a mix of both. The Egyptian Architecture Tour is typically an introduction to the country’s main buildings but it can be tailored to your group’s particular areas of interest.
The Pyramid of Khufu at Giza, the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence:
For Tours of Egypt we can provide a basic outline of types and areas of Egyptian buildings. We can provide information on the key areas and building types up to a year ahead of Egyptian Architecture Tours.
A group of architects interested in (for example) innovative Cairo housing or office buildings could be provided with tailored information allowing a tour programme to be agreed prior to their visit to Egypt.

Most photos of The Pyramids focus on the three largest, namely the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Great Pyramid of Khufu. However 118 Egyptian pyramids have been identified as of November 2008.
