October, 2017 – The travelling Human Cities exhibition in 2016-2018 presents the process and results of co-creating activities in the experimental Labs of all the Human Cities partners in ten different European cities. The next upcoming Exhibition is landing in Bilbao during the Bilbao Design Week. Every exhibition is always combined with a co-creating workshop and sharing presentations of all the Human Citizens.

Walking the streets
Bilbao with Human Cities partner BILBAO EKINTZA, contributes with the “Walking the Streets!” project that aims to highlight the intangible heritage of the community of Bilbao La Vieja neighbourhood by means of ten artistic interventions and one urban itinerary that links them. These interventions are the result of a participatory process with the neighbours and socio-cultural agents that took the opportunity to share experiences and design strategies to improve the public space in an inclusive way. Altercartography
“Altercartography” should be understood as an immersive space where there is a proposal for other forms of looking, inhabiting and developing the city map and, therefore, itinerary from the vision that citizens have of it, from a perspective that goes beyond geography. “Altercartography” was created as a masterclass in the style of a practical and experimental workshop. Human Cities _Challenging The City Scale/ Helsinki 2017

The group of events forming Human Cities Helsinki was held during September 2017 and organised by Group X at Aalto University Department of Architecture. They consisted of a collaborative workshop and a triple exhibition as main events, together with adjacent activities organised by the City of Helsinki or programmed within Helsinki Design Week 2017. People from different background, place of origin and representing a variety of institutions participated in the various events.
