Opening of a new underpass with a mega artwork at Graz Main Train Station
Graz main train station is being rebuilt by the end of 2015 to a modern transportation hub.
The completion of the northern underpass, designed by Zechner & Zechner architects with a 150 meters long artwork by Peter Kogler allows a new access to the station and represents a further milestone in the realization of the project.
Platform area reconfiguration and circulation

The main station of Graz will be reorganised and reconfigured as part of the infrastructure project.
A new pedestrian tunnel will be built consecutive with the rail and platform alterations to connect the west and east parts of the city, and the roofing over the platform area will be renewed.
The new tunnel “north” is designed with an artwork of Peter Kogler and a length of 150 meters and gives the underpass the flair of an art exhibition.
A large roof will span three platforms with a double-arch construction and provide the spacious atmosphere Graz’s main station requires.
