The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (“WKCDA”) announced today a shortlist of seven design teams that have been invited to submit technical proposals for the development of Hong Kong’s first art-themed park, 14 hectares of landscaped public space for arts and culture at the West Kowloon Cultural District, by the waterfront in Kowloon.

VOGT Landscape architects – Practice Information

Vogt Landscape Architects Ltd. are based in Zurich, Switzerland, with sub offices in Berlin and London.

Günther Vogt and his team in Zurich, London and Berlin have more than twenty years’ experience working regularly on projects of national and international acclaim in all aspects of landscape and open space design. They have designed a wide variety of public and private outdoor spaces in Europe and Asia. These include the grounds of the Allianz Arena in Munich, the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and Tate Modern in London, the Garden of Violence for the Swiss Expo 2002, the FIFA headquarters and the Masoala Rain Forest Hall in Zürich and the Courtyard for the Kolumba Museum in Cologne by Peter Zumthor. Building on research and experience, VOGT’s scope of work has steadily grown to encompass also city scale projects in Europe and Asia.

VOGT’s recent portfolio includes an international range of work reflecting a commitment to site-specific solutions that address relevant environmental and social concerns. Most recently: The Olympic Athletes’ Village, London 2012; the European Harbour in Bremen, the Novartis Campus Park in Basel, the Lohsepark in the Hafencity of Hamburg and the Droogdokkenpark in Antwerp. Since 2005 Günther Vogt is professor at the ETH in Zurich, and currently also visiting Professor of Landscape Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design.

VOGT’s many built projects have received international acclaim and have been widely published. In 2010, Günther Vogt was awarded the prestigious Swiss Schulthess Garden Prize in 2012 the Meret Oppenheim Prize.

Buro Happold will provide a single source for multi-disciplinary engineering, including core Civil, Structural and MEP Environmental engineering together with a team of specialist consultant who lead their fields. From Marine and Coastal engineering through to Inclusive Design and Crowd Flow Simulation, they will manage the whole design process and follow it through to construction.
