14 Jun 2017 – A huge and deadly blaze engulfed the 24-storey block of flats in North Kensington, west London.
Studio E Architects were responsible for upgrade work that included new windows, insulation and cladding, and a complete upgrade to the heating system. A new entrance and new flats will be created within the podium levels.
Scope of work: ACM rainscreen over-clad, replacement windows, curtain walling, louvres, feature metalwork
Client: Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea
The Grenfell Tower refurbishment architects posted a statement that their website was temporarily shut down on the 15th of June as a result of the number of requests received, but that they weren’t commenting on the situation.
The Grenfell Fire was a major and tragic incident for all those directly and indrectly involved. It has also however began to form a pivotal event for the construction industry sector and the building / property professions. Lessons must be learnt to prevent further terrible building fires.
Haileybury – New Girls’ Boarding Houses, Hertfordshire, western England, UK

A new building to provide accommodation for 120 girls and supporting teaching and administrative staff in a highly sensitive ‘green belt’ location, adjoining listed buildings.
