Dubai Palm Islands : An iconic symbol of revolutionary Dubai architecture
Over the years, Dubai has emerged as a home to the ground-breaking architectural wonders of the world. A mix of the traditional and the contemporary elegance, Dubai architecture surpasses some of the finest architectural designs and themes in Hong Kong, New York, Shanghai, and other skyscraper cities of the world.

The Palm Islands comprise three islands, Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira, located on the coastal area of the emirate of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Designed exclusively to resemble a giant palm tree, the Palm Islands house super luxury spas, high-end holiday accommodation, themed boutique hotels, shoreline apartment buildings, beaches, restaurants, cafes, dive sites, theatres and a variety of exciting popular tourist attractions.
The Palm Islands are built from approximately 94 million cubic meters of sand and almost 7 million tons of rocks and stones dredged from the creek and the surrounding sea bed. The Palm Jumeirah, for instance, was created by pouring sand fill onto the 10.5 metre-deep seabed using dredgers. The Dubai architects used a special dredging technique, called rainbowing, to achieve 3 metres high reclamation above sea-level. Further, they used natural rock to create a curved breakwater resembling the natural reef in the Palm Islands.
All this and much more definitely make the Palm Islands a brilliant example of Dubai architecture.
The Dynamic Tower is going to be another feather in the cap of Dubai architecture. Designed by Italian architect David Fisher, the Dynamic Tower will feature 80 apartments rotating around a central column, with the help of 79 giant wind turbines placed between the floors. The whole world is waiting impatiently to view the world’s first moving building.
