The redevelopment of the Oval Cricket Ground was completed on budget and on time.
The £23 million project in Kennington, South London for Surrey County Cricket Club involved the demolition of the existing stands at the Vauxhall End and replacement with a Stand over 4 levels and a main curved roof, including open air terraces and a living screen running around the façade of the Stand, resulting in an increase in ground capacity at the Oval from 18,500 to 23,000.

Following a concept design by HOK SVE, The Miller Partnership and their design team were appointed by Surrey County Cricket Club during 2003 to develop the detail design, interior design and external spaces for the Vauxhall End of the Oval Cricket Ground.
The Oval Cricket Ground Project was programmed into two construction phases. Phase 1 of the Oval Cricket Ground redevelopment consisted of: demolition of the existing stands, installing piles, concrete sub-structure, erecting steelwork frame and erecting lower seating decks for the ground. This phase was completed on time to allow a temporary handover of the ground for a limited season of international cricket matches during the Summer of 2004. Phase 2 of the Oval Cricket Ground redevelopment consisted of: completing the superstructure, M&E services, fitting out and external works for the ground.
The Oval Cricket Ground Project was handed over during June 2005 and has just completed a season of County and International cricket matches. Having hosted the first test match between England and Australia in 1880, the ground was completed on time to hold the final and victorious Ashes test match between England and Australia.
