WW+P worked with Engenuiti, Integration and Building Trust International to design a building which was flexible and adaptable to meet current and future needs. It comprises three additional classrooms, a library and a covered external classroom with a sunken play area, which doubles as a small amphitheatre.
Design: The Purple Ink Studio, architects. The programmatic values of the school believe in breaking away from the standard scholastic teaching system. The design embraces the creative enterprise of ‘flexible learning’ to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners.
Architects: Woods Bagot. With a focus on collaboration and individuality, the building provides students with technology-rich, interactive spaces. These include a mix of formal and informal learning spaces – a dedicated base for year 7 and 8 girls, science, drama and event facilities.
Design: Marks Barfield Architects. Considerable research went into developing this ambitious primary school, taking best practice from across the globe on teaching methods since it is also a training school. Staff are clearly proud and delighted with the resultant building.
Architects RO&AD architecten’s latest project is a Dutch school with a schoolgarden which is actually built by the teacher and the students themselves. We are proud, but more so are they.
