Leisure destination with a 2,000 sqm snow centre featuring two real-snow slopes; a 12-screen cinema with the largest IMAX screen in the UK; a bowling alley; an indoor trampolining centre; a 130 room hotel; and a variety of shops, bars and restaurants.
Architects: shedkm. The design draws on the ‘patchwork’ of building styles within the Brighton cityscape and reinterprets them as part of a progressive and sustainable new quarter. The result is an exemplar urban design for mixed-use development.
Design: HOK. The 10,000-sq-ft headquarters and youth centre for UK charity Youthscape, designed by HOK, has been recognised with an Inspirations Award by Contract magazine.

Denmark’s Rowing Stadium at Bagsværd Lake fulfils the vision of creating a rowing stadium in an international league of its own. Beautifully situated with water and forest on all sides, it is a place that accommodates both the elite and the broader public.
Design: Howeler + Yoon Architecture – the Circus Conservatory building will house America’s first accredited degree program in Circus Arts. As the anchor tenant of a peninsula, the new site plan will transform an undeveloped section of Portland into a vibrant artistic center.
Diamond Schmitt Architects is among a shortlist of firms selected to design a new civic centre for the Toronto suburb of Etobicoke. The scheme was recently presented at a public event.
Design: ELÍAS RIZO ARQUITECTOS. Situated in a commercial area to the west of the city of Guadalajara, the project developed from the idea of creating a building with a removable metal frame capable of holding a machine with artificial waves for surfing.

A 127,000 sqm mixed-use development. The building design represents a dedicated effort to provide an open realm for community interaction and enjoyment in Daxing.
Design: Studio C102, architects. Fit-out of the first 8,000sqft 1Rebel, a new luxury boutique brand of gyms located in St Mary’s Axe, London. Originally conceived as an office, the building has been stripped down and reconfigured into a contemporary, industrial space which is balanced in luxury and theatrical glamour.
Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects win the St Luke’s design competition: five architectural teams had worked up concept designs for the site.
