Le Pristine Singapore is nestled within the Grand Hyatt Singapore, occupying the mezzanine level of the main entrance where the iconic mezza9 once stood.

This transformation carried significant creative responsibility. Mezza9 was a beloved institution in Singapore, renowned for its groundbreaking concept: an open-plan restaurant featuring nine distinct open kitchens. From its inception, this innovative design captivated diners, quickly becoming a cherished space for locals, filled with shared memories and celebrated moments.

Adding a unique layer to this project, Nao Taniyama, our principal designer, was part of the original design team for mezza9 during his time with Superpotato. With this deep connection and an intimate understanding of the project’s original vision, Nao was uniquely positioned to lead its transformation. His ability to bridge the legacy of mezza9 with a forward-thinking approach made him the perfect choice for this ambitious renovation.

In honoring this legacy, our design approach took a bold and contrasting direction. At the heart of Le Pristine lies a grand open kitchen, serving as the focal point of the restaurant. This open kitchen acts as the restaurant’s central axis, subtly dividing the space into two distinct zones while offering a theatrical view of the chefs in action, akin to large windows framing a lively culinary performance.

Surrounding this focal point, various zones are thoughtfully arranged in a residential layout, fostering an intimate and inviting ambiance. This blend of transparency and intimacy encourages guests to engage with the culinary process, enriching their experience.
