This mixed-use development design by WATG, Architects totals nearly 950,000 sqft at the intersection of an up-and-coming neighborhood and an established downtown core. Two residential towers, 440 feet tall, sit above a mixed-use podium
Design: FINNE Architects. This house is located on a narrow site facing Puget Sound. The architectural massing wraps around a south-facing courtyard containing a large reflecting pool with two “floating” basalt boulders.
Design: Balance Associates Architects. Project focused on a 1940’s house in Seattle: the kitchen, garage and basement were all that remained standing after demolition. The basic layout remained but spaces were opened up to the view and to each other.
Design: LMN Architects. The new 138,000-sqft facility will help meet the soaring demand for education in computer science, which has recently surpassed business as the most popular major at the University of Washington.
Design: MW|Works Architecture+Design. Located on a tight, narrow urban lot in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, this project explores the potential for a modern infill projects that is both lively and responsible.
Design: LMN Architects. Initial design for an expansion and renovation to the Asian Art Museum in Seattle. As Seattle Art Museum’s original home located in the Olmsted-designed Volunteer Park, the building will get its first substantial renovation since it was completed in 1933.
Design: Stephenson Design Collective. A small home in the residential neighborhood of Ballard in Seattle, WA was carefully dismantled by hand to salvage every piece of material to create the Lark House. A covered patio off of the living room doubles interior space when opened.
Design: Lane Williams Architects. The structure is pulled apart into three houses to provide added privacy, to protect the exterior terrace, and to inflate the scale of the building to match the heroic setting among rocks and pine trees.
The Madison Park House is the latest custom-spec house to be designed and built by First Lamp, this new Seattle home grows out of the hillside and allows the main living space to float out amongst the trees.
Design: Coates Design Architects. The Bainbridge Island Gateway, a multi use office and retail anchor on Bainbridge Island, WA, features copper panels crafted by hand in Silverdale, WA using weatherizing technology developed by DMD. The facade is self-healing, and will continue to age over time.
Design: Scott Allen, Olson Sundberg Kunding Allen (OSKA) Architects. Tucked against the wall of a natural cliff and right on the water’s edge in Gig Harbor, Washington, this project answered the unique challenges of its site. The footprint for the new structure replaces an old guest house and boathouse, and was limited in its size by an agreement through a regulatory process.
Design: SHED Architecture & Design. Our clients wanted an economical, efficient, low-maintenance house with ground floor living areas that extend out to comfortable outdoor spaces. The social family chef wanted the kitchen to occupy a central and commanding position in the house. Two kids rooms with a shared bath and a master suite on the upper floor and mechanical, storage, and media room in the basement round out the program.
Main Street House in SLeschi neighborhood, by SHED Architecture & Design, takes its name from the unimproved right of way and pedestrian path that bounds its site to the north. The single family house was built for a husband and wife, both geologists, nearing retirement but actively working from home.
Design: Olson Kundig Architects. The Bezos Center for Innovation is now open at Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI). Generously supported by Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos, the Bezos Center for Innovation is a groundbreaking exhibition dedicated to the theme of innovation, featuring multimedia, interactive and hands-on experiences as well as artifacts, images and oral histories that explore Seattle’s creative history and ignite the innovator within.
Design: CCS ARCHITECTURE. This house was designed as a second home for a Bay Area couple as a summer retreat to spend the warm summer months away from the fog in San Francisco. Built on a steep slope and a narrow lot, this 4000 square foot home is spread over 3 floors, with the master, guest and kids bedroom on the ground floor, and living spaces on the upper floor to take advantage of the views.

Tacoma Art Museum celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony with some 300 supporters and the community to kick off the museum’s transformative building expansion project.
Construction is underway on the new Washington State University visitor center designed by the design-build team, Olson Kundig Architects and Sellen Construction.
