International architecture practice, Swanke Hayden Connell Architects has unveiled their scheme designs for the 139,000 sqm Nanning Wuxiang Headquarters paid competition project in Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Province in Southern China.
Following their success in winning first prize in an international competition, the architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp) have been commissioned to design the new southern railway station in Hangzhou.
The 163,500 sq metre complex, commissioned by Jiangsu Jiarun Real Estate Co. Ltd, consists of a 33-storey office tower, two hotel towers and a retail podium with an entertainment building.
The project is located in the core of the new development area next to Suzhou City. The aim was to create an attractive public urban plaza for the emerging center of the new district.

10 DESIGN and Buro Happold have won the international design competition for the key signature gateway bridge for the new Shizimen Business District in Zhuhai, China. The feature bridge is the gateway entry to south China’s new planned commercial hub and also marks the connection of the Shizimen Canal to the Pearl River Delta.
Jurors’ comments: “The jurors found this design engaging and dynamic. The central vortex was described as creating a focal area for an interesting series of spaces for the community.
