Design: David Jay Weiner, Architects. This building is a response to a client’s desire to build a new family weekend house on a densely wooded sloping site with stunning views overlooking a beautiful pond and the Berkshire Hills beyond.

The new visitor centre for the south part of the park and ArcelorMittal Orbit visitor attraction, includes ticketing and retail space, and flexible events space with a roof terrace providing panoramic views over the park. The opening of the hub building over the weekend means the award-winning architectural practice is the only architect to date to have delivered an Olympic venue – the Copper Box Arena – as well as a legacy venue.
Zurich airport building complex offering a vast utilization mix of corporate embassies, hotels, offices, medical clinics, schools and gastronomy covering more than 180.000 sqm. Holzer Kobler Architekturen with lead design architect Riken Yamamoto from Japan, are involved as design architects.
Design: Nico van der Meulen Architects. The clients brief was for a spacious home that expressed its appreciation for outdoor living. An open plan and practical house that lived out onto the garden was of utmost importance to them. Consequently the design developed into a layout that encouraged such a lifestyle.
Design: dRMM. Endless Stair, an intriguing structure of Escher-like interlocking staircases made from American tulipwood cross-laminated timber (CLT) has been reconfigured and is a feature at Interni Magazine’s ‘Feeding New Ideas for the City’ exhibition at the Università degli Studi in Milan.
Design: S333 Architecture + Urbanism
S333 has been announced as finalists in a competition to design a cluster of residential towers in OMA’s masterplan for Bègles, Bordeaux. S333 worked with landscape architect Rémi Salles to transform a 1.5ha industrial site into a new residential neighbourhood with 175 units, recreational areas and local amenities.

Design: richärd+bauer – this building houses optical research labs, faculty offices, auditoria, conferencing and interaction spaces. It is the first of a series of clusters that will replace the existing buildings over time
Design: Snøhetta: The James B. Hunt Jr. Library at North Carolina State University, designed by Snøhetta in collaboration with local architect Clark Nexsen (formerly PBC+L), received the Library Building Award from the American Institute of Architects and the American Library Association in recognition of design excellence.
Expansion of the Kimbell Art Museum, Texas, USA

Surrounded by elms and red oaks, Renzo Piano’s 101,130-square-foot colonnaded pavilion stands as an expression of simplicity and lightness—glass, concrete and wood—some 65 yards to the west of Louis I. Kahn’s signature cycloid-vaulted museum of 1972.
Design: John McAslan + Partners. The new Amphitheatre designed by John McAslan + Partners marks the first phase of the practice’s masterplan for the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Rwanda. It will be formally inaugurated on Tuesday 8th April 2014.
Design: hMa – hanrahanMeyers architects, LLP. The design for Holley House was initiated in response to existing stone walls on the site, a twenty-five acre parcel near Garrison, New York. The architects designed the house by first building two parallel stone walls from stone quarried on the site.
The Dalí Museum design by HOK, Architects on a scenic waterfront site in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. The 68,000-sqft building doubles the size of the original 1982 Dalí Museum, a one-story warehouse. Exhibits include oils, watercolors, sketches, sculptures and other works from a 2,140-piece permanent collection. The $30m building stands more than 75 feet tall and is adorned by 1,062 unique, triangular glass panels.
African Architecture Competition
Nka Foundation invites entries for Mud House Design 2014, an international architecture competition open to recent graduates and students of architecture, design and others from around the world who think earth architecture can be beautiful. The challenge is to design a single-family unit of about 30 x 40 feet (approximately 10 x 12 metres) to be built by maximum use of earth and local labor in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
